What is the Work Activity Program?
The Work Activity Program (WAP) is a job skills training program for individuals with little to no previous work experience
Designed to provide basic foundational training to get and keep a job
What type of work would I do?
The WAP program offers a variety of paid work and job training options
Piece rated jobs such as ad inserting, paper sorting, collating, envelope stuffing and small parts assembly work is available in our Assembly Area
Once an initial work evaluation is completed, other WAP options include placement in any one of PSW’s 30 hourly paid, integrated work groups.
What Type of Training Would I Receive?
Job skills and work habits (arriving on time, following directions)
Social skills training-getting along with others, resolving conflict
Counseling
Individualized goal planning
Preparation for referral to the Supported Employment Group Program
Who Do We Serve?
Must be at least 18 years of age
Intellectually / Developmentally disabled
Multiple disabilities
Autistic
Ambulatory and non-ambulatory
Ability to attend to self-care needs
